Penington Hits it Out of the Park with Sports Arenas
At Penington Painting Company, we love sports. Not only do we love the thrill of watching a head-to-head matchup, but we have ingrained ourselves into the game itself through our history of painting sports venues. We started this journey by first working on the Oregon State University’s Matthew Knight Arena, home of the Oregon Ducks. The arena houses upwards of 12,000 seats in Eugene Oregon and hosts both the men and women’s basketball teams during their home games.
PPC was tasked with painting the brand new Matthew Knight Arena before it’s first game in 2011. This was a massive undertaking that PPC completed with through our dedication to diligence and quality.
In addition to painting Matthew Knight Arena, PPC painted the Oakland A’s spring training facility in Phoenix Arizona and is currently working with the Arizona Diamondback’s Chase Field on ongoing renovations.
PPC’s Vice President and Senior Project Manager, Pat Kichler has worked on many of these projects and recognizes the responsibilities that come with painting a sports venue. When PPC is painting a sports venue they have a responsibility to the university, city and fans that will be attending sporting events at the venue for years to come.
“There is a very high level of quality that is expected on these projects and they are highly public with a lot of traffic,” said, Kichler. “It’s not only a matter of aesthetics but quality and durability. Expectations are extremely high.”
So what’s next for PPC is the realm of sports venues? Only time will tell but Pat Kichler has some ideas in mind! “Enclosed football stadiums would be a fun one to work on,” said Kichler.
